Welcome to the BarkingBus
Serving the Gold Coast, we bring joy, care, and adventure right to your dog’s doorstep. Giving them the day they deserve while you focus on what matters.
Picture this: you come home after a busy day, and your dog is calm, content, and glowing with happiness. No guilt about leaving them alone. No worry about their boredom or loneliness. Just a tired, fulfilled pup who’s had the time of their life. At BarkingBus, we make that vision a reality every single day.
I’m originally from the UK, where I served in the Army. After my service ended, I found myself searching for purpose. Searching for fulfilment. Searching for something that genuinely mattered.
Last year, I made the bold decision to move to Australia in pursuit of a happier life and a career that felt meaningful. I wanted to wake up excited about the day ahead, not just going through the motions. Over the years since leaving the Army, I’ve tried many things: different jobs, different businesses, different paths. Some worked for a while. Others didn’t. But through all of it, I was always searching for what truly mattered. And after all the detours and lessons learned, I’ve finally found it.
My Mission
Dogs don’t deserve to be kept at home for hours on end, alone. They deserve adventure, companionship, stimulation, and joy. That’s why I created BarkingBus—to offer them the best day out, every day.
I see dogs as angels in disguise. They appear when we need them most. They love without judgment, heal without questions, and comfort without being trained. Dogs never asked you to be perfect. They just loved you—fully, freely, forever. Isn’t that what divine love is supposed to look like?I think about all the times my dog saved me.
Not from danger, but from loneliness, despair, and giving up. They didn’t perform miracles—they just showed up. A warm body beside me when the world felt cold. Eyes that saw my soul when I felt invisible. Loyalty that held me together when everything fell apart.
Dogs don’t care about your past. They don’t worry about your future. They love you in the eternal now.
What a Day with BarkingBus Looks Like
Morning: The Excitement Begins
Your dog hears the bus pulling up, tail wagging, ready to go. Pickup is completely flexible to suit your routine:
-
Meet me at the door and hand over your pup personally
-
Leave them in the backyard with the gate unlocked for easy access
-
Trust me with a spare key if you’re comfortable. I’ll collect them from inside
Once I have your dog, I take my time. I greet them calmly, let them sniff me, and make sure they’re comfortable and excited. Then I carefully secure them in the bus using a fitted harness and doggy seatbelt to keep them safe during the journey. I seat smaller dogs together, away from larger breeds, so they feel comfortable and aren’t overwhelmed or crowded. Every dog gets their own secure spot—no loose roaming, no risk. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my priority from the moment I pick them up.
On the Road: Anticipation Builds
As we pick up their new friends along the route, the energy grows. Dogs meet through the windows, sniff each other as they board, and start forming bonds. There’s joy, curiosity, barking with excitement, and the kind of happiness that only comes from being part of a pack. The bus is equipped with proper ventilation, climate control, and non-slip flooring so every dog travels comfortably and safely.
At the Park: Pure Freedom
We arrive at beautiful, secure parks and private play spaces across the Gold Coast. I carefully unbuckle each dog, check their harness, and let them out one by one to avoid chaos. Then—freedom. Your dog runs, chases, plays with their new friends, explores new scents, rolls in the grass, and feels the wind in their fur. I monitor the group constantly, ensuring play stays safe, positive, and balanced. Shy dogs get gentle encouragement. High-energy dogs get space to run. Every personality is respected.
Midday: Care & Connection
We pause for fresh water breaks (I carry portable bowls and clean water). I hand out healthy treats as rewards for good behaviour. If your dog needs it, I provide light grooming—a quick brush, paw wipe, or ear check. We play training games like recall, sit-stay, and fetch to keep minds engaged. Dogs who need a quieter moment get one-on-one cuddles and attention. Every pup feels seen, safe, and loved.
Afternoon: Calm & Contentment
As the day winds down, energy shifts. Dogs are tired in the best way—fulfilled, not exhausted. I carefully buckle each one back into their harness and seatbelt. They rest together, some cuddling with their new friends, some napping, some gazing peacefully out the window. The bus is calm, quiet, and content. All of them are happy, tired, and deeply satisfied.
Home Again: A Different Dog
Drop-off is just as flexible and safe as pickup. I return your dog to your door, backyard, or home—whatever works best for you. I unbuckle them gently, give them a final pat, and hand them back with a smile. You’ll notice the difference immediately: they’re calm, content, deeply satisfied. No pent-up energy. No anxiety. Just a dog who’s had a full, beautiful day—and is ready to curl up beside you.
